Older Child Adoption
Older children bring many joys, along with a wide range of needs resulting from varied backgrounds and life experiences. They may have suffered from physical, emotional, or sexual abuse or neglect. They may have experienced multiple homes and varied family settings, making it difficult for them to feel safe. All of them need unconditional love, unlimited encouragement and total commitment from a family of their own.
While our first hope is always to preserve a family unit, sometimes this is just not possible. For example, we have worked with relatives who have received a terminal diagnosis and need to locate a family for their grandchildren. We have walked with some who are just not able to parent and want to give their child the gift of a family through adoption.
It is part of the ministry of Deaconess Pregnancy and Adoption (DPA) to meet the unique needs of each child who needs a loving home. If you are interested in adopting an older child, please call us at (405) 949-4200 so we can secure your contact information and share a bit more about this opportunity.
